N2UN - Tony

OK guys, are you ready for this? In an attempt to put OBO over the top, I
decided to have a Joystick weekend. This amazing antenna, 7 1/2 feet long,
was deployed for much of the weekend. Please don't tell my coop board! To
keep down RFI, it was fed with coax from a tuner. There was no discernable
RFI. It also didn't work at all on 20, quite a drawback I'm sure you will
agree. 80 was also useless. BUT, the amazing Joystick, which QST refused to
accept ads for because the English maker didn't send ARRL a test antenna (it
had a reputation of burning up--there is a mysterious hermetically sealed
coil or something in the center of the thing), gave the following results
(low power, of course):

456 QSOs; 161 countries; 219,765 points

Never mind that half the stns worked mistook my call for WE1AK! In my
wildest dreams, I never would have thought I could make that many QSOs. It's
easier from VT!

Long live OBO.

73, Tony
