Jack Schultz, W2GGE  -  SK  

Jack L. Schultz of Lloyd Harbor, on August 5, 2006, from cancer. A retired Grumman Engineer who contributed to the E2 Hawkeye and LEM programs, and was a 1942 graduate of MIT. A lifelong devotee of ham radio (W2GGE) he was a member of the Order of Boiled Owls and a veteran of numerous DX-expeditions. Beloved husband for 61 years, of Lois. Cherished father of John P. Schultz of Stamford, Conn., and Elizabeth L. Knobelauch of Bayport, L.I. Dear grandfather of Tracy D. Schultz of Seattle, Wash.  Donations may be made to VNS Hospice of Suffolk, 505 Main Street, Northport, NY 11768.

Ham Radio University 2006

HRU 2006 is coming!  Sunday, January 8, 2006 at Briarcliffe College
Highlights include -   keynote speaker Gordon West WB6NOA, 25 forums including "Katrina Relief - Ham Radio Response" with ARRL's Allan Pitts W1AGP , "World Radiosport Team Championship 2006 in Brazil" with Jeff Briggs K1ZM "Computers and Ham Radio" with Rich and Nancy Rosner N2STU, N2TKA, " Transmitter Hunting" with Larry Berger WA2SUH, "Contesting" with Mel Granick KS2G and much, much more!
    
Operate the HF special event station W2V. There will be a volunteer exam session in the afternoon for all classes of license, Amateur Radio Club tables, door prizes, goodie bags. The cafeteria will be open and food will be available all day.

Frank, K2AW, Grand Ole Ham

At the 2005 Hudson Division Awards Dinner, Bill Hellman, NA2M, introduced "Grand 'Ole Ham" Frank Fix, K2AW. Frank, ninety one years old, regaled the group with a history of his ham and aviation career which the audience found very entertaining. 
Frank plays golf twice a week and still runs his business, "K2AW's
Silicon Alley."
